This model is one of the most convenient among the variety of corset belts.  It sustains the size perfectly, without the stiffness that is the unavoidable consequence of the discomfort imposed by some corsets.  It is closed in front with a busk and laced in the back.  Original French sewing instructions and English translation included.

1863 Jacket & Vest w/Shawl Collar

The mode of jackets changes more each day.  One makes them in all materials, similar to the dresses that they accompany.  Cashmere or summer fabrics with the vest in white piqué for printed muslin dresses or light material, in taffeta for dresses of wool, silk or material of fantasy.  The jacket in the model is of doubled Florence.  Original French sewing instructions and English translation are included.

1860's Men's Tailcoat, Waistcoat & Trousers

Multi-Size - 34-50 Chest

This pattern consists of man's tailcoat, waistcoat and trousers.  It is a simple costume and not much tailoring required.  It has a large peak lapel, which is usually done in satin, silk or faille with the rest usually of wool.  The vest is usually of white piqué.

1850-1900 California Pants

Men's Sizes 28-60 Waist and Women's Sizes 4-26 Included.

The front has vertical front pockets, a button fly, and suspender buttons.  The back can have two welt pockets or none at all, a back cinch belt and a split back waistband with suspender buttons.  The hems at the bottom of the legs are shorter at the center front than the center back and have a very slight flare.

All shirts have a back yoke, shaped armholes and long sleeves.  View A is an informal or work shirt with a front placket opening with attached cuff and the choice of 5 different attached collars.  View B is a dress shirt with a shield shaped front opening bosom with attached neckband and wristband and is worn with detachable collars and cuffs.  View C is a dress shirt with a rectangular plain, 3 or 4 pleated bosom, opens front and back (optional) and is also worn with detachable collars and cuffs.  The dress shirts have 7 different detachable collars and 4 different detachable cuff choices.  14 different choices of period neckwear are also included.

1850-1915 Men's Frock Coat & Vest

Sizes 34-58 Chest Included

The frock coat is double breasted and can be button on either side.  The silk lining shows at the notched collar.  It has tails at the back open to the waist and has inside pockets in both breast and in the tails.  Vest View A has a notched collar and four welt pockets on the outside and two inside pockets at the breast.  The collar is "laid on" and does not go all the way around the back of the neck.  Vest View B has a shawl collar and two welt pockets.  The collar goes all the way around the back of the neck.  The back of both vests has a cinch belt.

Early 1860's Day Dress

Sizes 6-26 Included

All views have a two dart front bodice and a classic curved V, tucked back.  The darts are boned.  The front of the skirt is directionally knife pleated, the sides are box pleated and the back is cartridge pleated (gauged).  The bodice, sleeves and skirt are flat lined with polished cotton.  The skirt has a pocket and is stitched to the bodice.  The bodice has piping at the neck, arms eyes and waist.  Dress has 3 styles of sleeves and also included are a collar and plain under-sleeves.

This open wire hoop skirt will give you the elusive elliptical shape that was so popular in Late/Post Civil War era of 1863-1868. A hem "bag" will keep the wearer's feet from slipping through. A wonderful shape and size at 126" hem circumference.
