This waist is of silk, lined with muslin, and completed by means of a Russian chemise, formed of pleated muslin, bordered with guipure insert and edging.  A narrow black velvet ribbon is run through the insertion and tied in a bow.

Corset cover #1 is made of fine, bleached muslin similar to Nainsook, trimmed with embroidery and ribbon.  Corset cover #2 is made of cambric decorated with lace insertion and lace.  Bolero corset cover - NOT SHOWN - is made of fine white cambric and is decorated with embroidered flowers.  English translation and original French sewing instructions are included.

The corset covers worn by the ladies sitting on the ottoman are featured in corset covers worn by women with mature figures which did not need padding to create the fashionable S-shape.  The standing lady is wearing a corset cover with a ruffle down the front which adds fullness without padding.
