This jacket was of black cloth, lined with
silk and braided with fine gold cord and wide and narrow gold braid.
Gilt fringe edges the outer edges. Pattern for design included.

One makes them in all materials, similar to the dresses that they accompany.
Cashmere or summer fabrics with the vest in white piqué for printed muslin
dresses or light material, in taffeta for dresses of wool, silk or material
of fantasy. The jacket in the model is of doubled Florence.

Waist
This jacket corsage forms part of a
combination costume of plain gray serge with black, white and gray
plaid wool. The cut-away fronts meet on the bust only, opening with
revers above and sloping outward below from a plaid vest. The revers
are faced with plaid goods, and the cuffs and the front part of the collar
are plaid. The back has a long square postilion.

The
front is like a Cuirass bodice. The neck either high with a mandarin collar,
or a low diamond with a half collar. The narrow two-piece sleeve is in full
or ¾ length. Double box pleats add lots of fullness to the "Waterfall" back.

1896 Ripple Jacket
Will fit Size Group A
This is a very stylish, fitted jacket with a very wide
notched lapel, and a flared hip. It can have one of two different
closures, either 3 bands or a faux vest to hold it close to the figure.
The front is fitted with a single dart. The moderate sleeve is in two
pieces, fitted to the elbow and with a full sleeve head. A contrasting
lining fabric is visible at the lapel and hip ripples. |
