1877 Chemise Buttoned on the Shoulders

The front of this linen chemise is partly run in narrow tucks and partly hem stitched on fine ford. The back of the chemise is gathered at the top.  On the neck and armholes the chemise is trimmed with needlework edging.

Dainty frilly undergarments sometimes called Frillies by our great grandmothers, were made of fine cottons and were accentuated with lace and or embroidery.  Recreating these patterns for ladies; undergarments, we've included embroidery patterns as an option for the front of the camisole.  True to the time period, the camisole, petticoat and pantaloons give proper form and fit.  This pattern includes the camisole, petticoat and pantaloons with complete instructions.

A Lady's Chemise

Misses Sizes Extra Small to 3X Large

Both versions of our flattering chemise have short gathered and ruffled cap sleeves and can be cut low knee-length or at the hip to be worn as a blouse.  Delicate pleats accent the center front and back of the neckline, which is adjustable with ribbon drawstrings.  The neckline of View A drops just off the shoulder and uses purchased eyelet beading and lace or eyelet ruffles at neckline and sleeve.  The neckline of View B sits on the shoulder and features a self-fabric ruffle and casing for the ribbon drawstring.  Instructions and alphabet designs for a Victorian monogram are included.
